Materials
Premium-grade PMMA.
PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate), commonly known as acrylic glass, is a highly transparent thermoplastic with exceptional UV resistance and long-term optical clarity. Worldbizz works exclusively with premium-grade PMMA — the benchmark material for structural acrylic applications in Singapore and the region.
What is PMMA
The material of choice for clarity and structural performance.
PMMA acrylic is produced through a process called bulk polymerization, where methyl methacrylate monomer and catalyst are poured into a polished glass mould and allowed to react over a controlled temperature cycle. The mould is designed to compensate for the volume contraction that occurs as individual molecules link into polymer chains — cure time typically runs 5 to 7 days depending on thickness. The result is a solid, optically pure panel with 93% light transmission, clearer than standard float glass.
The material can be coloured, moulded, cut, drilled, thermoformed, and chemically bonded, making it adaptable to a wide range of structural and architectural applications. Its combination of optical clarity, impact resistance, UV stability, and ease of fabrication has made it the standard material for transparent structural applications in construction, aquariums, and design.

Our materials
Premium-grade PMMA only.
Worldbizz uses only 100% unrecycled premium-grade PMMA — manufactured to consistent chemical composition with documented optical properties and long-term UV stability data, essential for panels expected to last 50 years.
This is in contrast to panels made from reprocessed or generic acrylic, which may use a mix of recycled raw components. These panels show inconsistent clarity, higher internal stress, and a tendency to yellow over time. In a pool panel or aquarium tank where clarity is both structurally and aesthetically critical, the grade of raw material is not a detail to compromise on.

Advantages
Why acrylic over glass.
Impact Resistance
Acrylic is far tougher and more shatter-resistant than glass. It will not break into sharp fragments if struck, making it significantly safer for pool panels, protective screens, safety barriers, and high-traffic architectural installations.
Optical Clarity
PMMA achieves 93% light transmission — clearer than standard float glass. Colours and shapes appear true and undistorted, which is why aquariums and pool viewing panels specify acrylic as the default material.
Lightweight
Acrylic weighs approximately half as much as glass of the same dimensions. This reduces structural loads, simplifies handling and transport, and makes large single-piece panels feasible where glass would be prohibitively heavy.
UV Stability
Premium-grade PMMA naturally resists yellowing and degradation from ultraviolet exposure. A correctly processed panel retains its optical clarity outdoors for decades without additional protective coatings.
Ease of Fabrication
Acrylic can be cut, drilled, routed, thermoformed, and chemically bonded using specialist tooling. Complex curved shapes, large seamless panels, and custom domes are all achievable — difficult or impossible to replicate in glass.
Thermal Insulation
Acrylic provides better thermal insulation than glass, reducing heat transfer in skylights, pool enclosures, and architectural glazing — relevant for both energy performance and comfort.
Chemical Resistance
PMMA withstands pool chlorine, saltwater, and most cleaning agents without degradation — a critical requirement for panels in continuous contact with pool water or marine environments.
Repairability
Unlike glass, surface scratches on acrylic can be polished out. A damaged panel does not necessarily require replacement. Worldbizz provides polishing and sanding services for panels we have supplied.
Applications
Where PMMA is used.
PMMA’s combination of optical clarity, structural performance, UV stability, and fabricability makes it the preferred material across a wide spectrum of applications — from the architectural to the highly technical. Worldbizz focuses on structural and architectural applications where the material is load-bearing, in continuous contact with water, or both.
Services
Design, supply, fabrication, and installation.
Worldbizz is a one-stop solution — design, supply, fabrication, delivery, and installation under a single warranty.
For structural pool and aquarium panels, we include Professional Engineer services for design calculation, endorsement on acrylic panels, and full CAD drafting.
Our warranty covers water leakage through the acrylic panel and workmanship relating to chemical bonding. Warranty period is 5 to 10 years depending on project scope. If there are any issues after installation, our local specialist team will attend at the earliest arrangement.
